I had sent many things for the children when i was back in England, with money donated at my birthday last year, however only 3 tubs of playdow and 100 different coloured pens had arrived at this point, so off we went.
The Kindergarden is a part of the hacienda in Huaran peru, which is about 5 minutes from our Bed & breakfast.
It has a total f 18 children from 3 to 5 years, is open Monday to friday from 9.00am untill 12.30 and the children come from the towns of cancha cancha ( a remote community 3 hours from Huaran) and Huaran.
As we entered the windowless cemented building with pictures on the walls, the wobbly shelf, 4 small tables and chairs with the twenty eyes all looking directly at us we explained why we there and that a donation had been given and what could we do to help.
All the children introuced themselves and there age and gave us a group photo to thank Ellen & Susan. The children where a litle shy, but once we started to open the playdow and gabriel making a face the children now wanted to make things. When we first gave the playdow 3 children quickly took one each, we metioned that it would be good to share, so they could use all the different colours. they all split the playdow and passed it round and watching these beautiful children concentrating on rolling, shaping and creating with just 3 small pots was just inspiring.
After spending time with the children we asked maria what was needed, a blackboard, tables, chairs, a toilet, small kitchen area and supplies

The teacher Maria is helped a little from a charity called Prona and is given a propina ( a tip) for her amazing services. We were not given the amount, but i am sure it is not much and you get an overwhelming feeling that her very big heart is what keeps her smiling and working so calmly with the children.
The children are given a small amount of food for there families to make a meal they can bring, as they do not have a kitchen to prepare it for them. This has a few problems as the diet of many children lack the nutrients they need and many times are given no breakfast. What would really help this place is a kitchen and regular supplies of food, fruit and vegetables.

Clothes are another problem and very much needed
We at the green house will be holding a Charity Tea & cake fundraiser early in December for a christmas party for the Kindergarden.
Please find Pictures enclosed and any donations would be greatly accepted.
Once again all the children say thankyou to Ellen and Susan, you are very special people
Bryan & Gabriel
